Its Christmas again at Blake Manor

    Its Christmas  again 2014

We cannot believe that another year has passed and we are at the end of another year, and we are looking forward to what the new year has to bring for us.  We have packed calendar of events over the Christmas.  Colin has been busy again with our Nativity scene in the reception room, and as always it is beautiful.  Carol and Aideen have also been busy decorating our home, and it is not an easy task as we have a lot of area to cover.  IMG_1979

They don't skimp on festive trimmings as you can see.

The focus for Christmas as always is on the person,  We believe more than ever, it is a time for family and of making every feel as happy as they can be.  We have a lot of visitors, and we have a lot of events planned.

Our Christmas party will be on the  14th this year, and it will be bigger than ever.

We will have all the usual activities with the Traditional Irish band visiting for the evening providing the music, and backing for our sing song.  We always have a few dancers turn up, and we will be sure to have some set dancing, as well as a few old time waltzes.  The food and drink will be plentiful, and Phil and Marie will provide a feast of tasty bites better than any 5 star hotel.

Mass will be celebrated on Christmas Day by Father Ed, and after that we will have a visit from a special man along with his helpers.  Family are always welcome, and any of the younger visitors are surprised that older people are not forgotten by Santa either.  Christmas dinner will be served to residents and their family if they wish to join them.  And this will be Turkey and Ham and all the trimmings

Mass on St Stephens day followed by another beautiful dinner.

We welcome whatever family members can make it for as long as they wish to spend with their loved ones.  We will also arrange for our residents to visit their family at home if they are feeling up to it.

So that's how it will go.  I will update with more activities as I get them.  I would like to take the opportunity to wish all our residents, staff and family a happy and peaceful Christmas.
